Master plan based on neo traditional planning principles that encourage pedestrian permeability, a strong sense of community and a close relationship to nature. The heart of the community is an integrated resort centre with a public park and village “main street”. Salt has been used as the model for Green Globe to create a new assessment model now known as the "Precinct Planning and Design Guide".
Previously Green Globe had assessment models for Eco Tourism and destinations (shires) but once they started looking at Salt to do an assessment, they found they did not have a model that could assess something like Salt, anywhere in the world.
