Seachange is an integrated residential community, designed to reflect New Urbanist principles that promote community interaction and pedestrian permeability.
The master plan responds to the existing and proposed urban, open space and golf course conditions that border the site.
A row of terrace-style townhouses and a strip of commercial development provide an urban edge and buffer to Napper Road.
The public community/commercial component of Seachange is located on the Napper Road frontage directly opposite the Arundel Shopping Centre development:
• a multi-purpose community building accessible to the general public;
• a single-storey complex of convenience shops & retail and medical centre;
A landscaped pedestrian “mews” provides a dedicated walkway access from the Arundel Shopping Centre to the Residents’ Clubhouse within the site.
Seachange consists of a range of residential house types and townhouse clusters, organised in a traditional gridded street pattern of residential streets with rear service lanes.
A number of intimate pocket parks are located throughout the development to enhance pedestrian permeability.
All the houses at Seachange are designed with North South roads and East-West blocks enabling the living spaces on the north side and the bedrooms on the south side. The development also utilises water sensitive design which is now becoming standard practice in most developments.
