This fitout is a juxtaposition of heritage elements of the original Macarthur chambers, with new building materials and integration of modern mechanical, electrical and security systems. The integrity of the original banking volume has been maintained with the use of a mezzanine retail area. The highly ornate ceilings and existing windows were reinstated and restored to their original state, the colour scheme of which was derived from analysis of paint scrapings to determine the original colour scheme. Specialist lighting was designed to accentuate the original restored features. Ground floor access through the adjacent Macarthur Central retail mall integrates this space with the wider retail development, and provides non-discriminatory disabled access.
