Urban Design
Urban design embodies the fundamental needs of our social, economic, physical and ethical environments. Its focus is on public places and with the way in which these places are experienced and used.
Urban design seeks to apply meaningful understanding for the needs of small places, as well as the arrangement, appearance and function of towns and cities. The scale and degree of detail vary according to each unique circumstance.
At ML Design this may encompass the preparation of design guidelines to assist development through to detailed urban structure plans; however, more importantly it embodies the collective design knowledge from years of experience. In this sense, urban design overlaps and complements the other ML Design disciplines of architecture, planning and interior design.
